Cryochamber

The high-quality cryochamber available to Alhambra guests is located at the 23rd Military Spa Hospital. It is an advanced therapeutic device that uses extremely low temperatures to treat a variety of conditions and improve overall health. Cryochamber treatments, also known as systemic cryotherapy, involve brief exposure of the entire body to very low temperatures, usually in the range of -110°C to -160°C.

How the cryochamber works?

The cryochamber consists of two stages:

  • Preparation: The patient enters the vestibule, where the temperature is around -60°C, so that the body can gradually adapt to the cold.
  • Main chamber: the patient then moves to the main chamber, where the temperature is much lower, usually between -110°C and -160°C. The stay in this chamber usually lasts between 1 and 3 minutes.

Indications for cryotherapy in the cryochamber:

  • Rheumatic diseases: rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis
  • Musculoskeletal disorders: back pain, sports injuries, tendon and ligament inflammation
  • Skin diseases: psoriasis, atopic dermatitis
  • Neurological: multiple sclerosis, neuralgia, autoimmune diseases
  • Improved recovery and fitness: faster recovery after exercise, improved physical performance

Benefits of cryotherapy in a cryochamber:

  • Pain reduction: Extreme cold temperatures act as a natural analgesic, reducing pain by reducing nerve activity.
  • Reduction of inflammation: Cryotherapy helps to reduce inflammation in tissues, which is beneficial for many inflammatory conditions.
  • Improved circulation: After leaving the cryochamber, the blood vessels dilate, which improves blood circulation and tissue oxygenation.
  • Increase in endorphins: Cryochamber treatments can stimulate the release of endorphins, which improves mood and well-being.
  • Tissue regeneration: Extreme cold promotes regenerative processes in tissues, which is beneficial for sports injuries and tissue damage.
  • Strengthening the immune system: Regular cryotherapy treatments can help strengthen the immune system.
